Remembrance Weekend - Laying of flowers at Chingford Cemetery

Remembrance Weekend – Laying of Flowers

As part of Remembrance Weekend, Endlebury SNT and Chingford Green SNT took part in the annual Laying of Flowers event held earlier today, Friday 6th November, at the Cross of Sacrifice, Chingford Mount Cemetery, organised by an Endlebury Ward Councillor.

This event has been held for the past 12 years and brings together members of the community and local schools to honour the memory of more than 300 Service Personnel buried at the cemetery. Students helped place flowers, poppies, and Royal British Legion poppy crosses on the graves as a mark of remembrance and respect.

Members of the public also attended and had the opportunity to lay a poppy flower at the Cross of Sacrifice in memory of those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice.

Thank you to everyone who took part in this moving and respectful event and helped ensure that the sacrifices of our Service Personnel are never forgotten.
